We are currently on a road trip. We are visiting some of the South West. We are hitting Arizona and New Mexico. We have already visited the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, and we are headed to Carlsbad Caverns today. My kids are in love with the National Park Headquarters and all the souvenir shops. I have to admit that I am a sucker for a National Park Store myself.

Since I got Riley, my vintage trailer, I've been eyeing the Pendleton National Park Blankets. I know I just got a beautiful wool blanket in Ireland, but I would really love one of these National Park Blankets. The National Park blankets first began in 1916, the first ones made were for Glacier National Park tourists and visitors to purchase. They were made in the Hudson Bay Style (hence the Glacier National Park blanket looks so much like a Bay Blanket). I've been loving these woolly wonders online for a while now, but while at the Grand Canyon, I got to see this beautiful blanket in person.

I probably won't be getting one any too soon. But it's going to be on my list of "wants" for the far off future.
I'm loving the South West. I'll be sharing pictures very soon. Our National Parks are "America's Best Idea" - go visit one this summer. You won't regret it.
