Candy Cane Brownies

I am always trying and adjusting brownie recipes.  I'm looking for the perfect combination of chewy and cakey.  I don't want my brownies to be totally gooey or utterly dry, I just want somewhere in between.  This recipe makes my pretty happy (and I think they might be even better the next day).
Candy Cane Brownies
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 cup cocoa
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.  Melt the butter in a sauce pan.  Remove from the heat and stir in the cocoa until smooth.  Then blend in the eggs, sugar and vanilla.  Add the dry ingredients (I just mixed right in the sauce pan).  Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan.  Bake at 350F for about 30-35 mins.

Icing
1/4 cup butter softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
6 tbsp. baking cocoa
1/4 cup milk
4 large candy canes crushed

Blend butter, vanilla, sugar, cocoa and milk with an electric mixer.  Spread the icing over the brownies while they are still warm.  Sprinkles with candy cane pieces.
I precut my brownies and put them in cupcake papers for easy and decorative serving.
